1. Using either an electronic doorbell or the peephole in the center of the door, make sure you verify the person's identity before opening the door. Do not, for any reason, open the door for someone you do not know or who is unable to identify themselves. If they are a public servant or employee of a company, as for them to show their identification.
2. If someone is supposed to meet up at your place, clarify the name, company, and time they are supposed to arrive. If unable to get the information needed to feel safe, have a friend come by and help you keep an eye on things.
