The inaccuracies in maps of the Earth occur because a globe is spherical and in trying to put a
sperical surface on a flat map we end up with distortions of various kinds depending on the
projection created.
There is no map projection that is capable of presenting accurate depictions of landmasses. The only true representation of the Earth is by using a globe.
