Let seperation distance = d

Meeting distance = 14 - d

using the relation :

Distance= (speed × time)

canoe distance , d = 4t - - - - (1)

Noobler distance = 14 - d = 3t ----(2)

Equate (1) and (2)

d/4 = (14 - d)/3

3d = 4 (14 - d)

3d = 56 - 4d

7d = 56

d = 8 miles

Hence, the distance is 8 miles
