One way segregated schools were separate but unequal was in the form of bubblers (sorry I live up north we don't call them water fountains) Many white schools had the clean, nice-looking bubblers. But for blacks, they had an older, less-nice bubbler.
Another way schools were unequal was the budget on them. Usually white schools would have been teaching equipment, and depending on the schools nice uniforms. Black schools wouldn't have a lot of equipment to spare. These schools were also very small so usually all the activities would happen in the one room.
