If we are talking on a money standpoint then it varies on what type of advertising your doing for that specific product. It can range from $100 dollars to $30,000 Dollars it really just varies. But if we are talking on a networking standpoint then the cost would be that you get where you target market. Say you have a product and it is a toothpaste product you would more likely want to advertise in or near a dentist rather than advertise in a candy shop or restaurant. I hope this helps
The costs of promoting products are often called the cost of doing business.  
Products promoted are much more likely to sell and your chances of remaining in business are greatly improved.  Another term might be 'outlay', or simply a business expense.
