Connect points W and Y. We form the triangle WXY on top and triangle WZY on the bottom. They are congruent triangles. We can prove this using the SSS (side side side) congruence theorem. The tickmarks tells us which pair of sides are congruent. For instance, XY= ZY due to the double tickmarks.
