What is the difference between a suscript and a coefficient in a chemical equation?

A coefficient denotes how many of that molecule there are. a subscript is how many of that atom are in the molecule. For example 3H₂O means there are 3 H₂O molecules and there are 2 hydrogen. If you were to count all the molecules present there would be 6 H and 3 0.
