2. The New World has many stretches of time that don’t include dialogue or action, but rather sweeping shots of nature – why do you think filmmakers included scenes that aren’t traditionally “exciting”?

Answer:

It would show scenery, Because it kind of copies what an old styled vintage film did, it showed alot of what was going in the scenery rather than getting into dialogue or action, an example of this kind of thing is little house on the prairie where some shots showed the land but would later on get into dialogue or action, it personally hits the style filmmakers originally did sense cameras were more looked as an personal experience, something to make it feel like you're there watching the environment, i've seen old black and white footage of places such as paris and new york, it showed more of the environment rather than getting into dialogue, personally back in the past, seeing footage back then was trying to make you feel like you were there watching what was going on, and i believe that's what "The new world" tried to copy.

Hope this Help!
