Popocatepetl, which is one of the tallest mountains in North America.
It’s been erupting since at least the 1300s, and most recently in 2000.
Its name is an Aztec word meaning “smoking mountain.”
The volcano is one of the three mountains in Mexico to contain glaciers, and is one of the most violent volcanoes in Mexico, with more than 20 major eruptions since the arrival of the Spanish in 1519.
