so all you have to do is double the 3/5 
3/5+3/5= 6/5 or 1 1/5 miles
alternatively you can just multiply by two, 
3/5*2/1=6/5 or 1 1/5 miles

1/4= .25
1/2= .5
Do the proportion
.6/.25= x/.5
Cross multiply and divide
.5 x .6= .3
.3 divide by .25= 1.2

Now simplify
Answer is 1 1/5
