Clark wants to figure how many pens to order for the office there are 48 workers and he needs to order one pen for each worker he knows that for every three peole who prefer red there are nine who prefer blue how many blue pens should he order?

For the answer to the question above, 9 people would want Red pens, and 27 would want Blue pens.  You can solve this by first adding the two numbers together to get 12.  Then, you would divide 48 by the 12 you just got to get 3. You can then multiply 3 and 9 by 3 to get how many of each color you need to get. I hope this helps
