Read the fable and use supporting evidence from the story to identify its theme. Answer in a minimum of three complete sentences.

One fine day in winter some Ants were busy drying their store of corn, which had got rather damp during a long spell of rain. Presently up came a Grasshopper and begged them to spare her a few grains, "For," she said, "I'm simply starving." The Ants stopped work for a moment, though this was against their principles. "May we ask," said they, "what you were doing with yourself all last summer? Why didn't you collect a store of food for the winter?" "The fact is," replied the Grasshopper, "I was so busy singing that I hadn't the time." "If you spent the summer singing," replied the Ants, "you can't do better than spend the winter dancing." And they chuckled and went on with their work.

The theme for this story is when the grasshopper was singing all last summer had did not remember to store up food for the winter when winter was almost there he found out that he had no food, so he went to the aunts and beg them for food the ants told him you should store up food rather them singing.

The tale's main theme is to not procrastinate, or be lazy. The grasshopper was singing all summer instead of working hard to collect its food for the winter.” I was so busy singing that I hadn't the time.”  The fable is telling its audience to get the job done before it's too late, if you do not get it done there will be consequences. When the grasshopper told the ants her situation the ants, "chuckled and went on with their work.” This could be referring to if you decide to be lazy, others are not always going to help you and you should have got the job done when it was necessary.
