A shopkeeper buys 5 fans for Rs. 4050. He spends Rs. 50 on the transportation, and sells them at a gain of 15%. Find the selling price of a fan.​

Shopkeeper buys 5 fans for: Rs 4050

Transportation cost : Rs 50

∴ Cost price =Rs 4050+Rs 60

=Rs 4100

Gain (%)=15%

∴ Formula:-

gain (%)=

100×[selling price(S.P)–cost price(S.P)] / cost price

15= 100×[S.P−4100]/4100

S.P=41×15+4100

S.P=615+4100

S.P=Rs 4715

Ans. Selling price of 5 fans =Rs 4715

Thus selling price of 1 fan = Rs 4715/5

=Rs 943/−
