Differences: live in different ecosystems, have different methods to obtain energy (photosynthesis or actually consuming food), are categorized in different levels of the pyramid that categorizes animals as producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, etc. The adaptations that animals have to live within the environment they live in.
Similarities: Every animal is made of cells, they all need energy to survive, I am sure there are more similarities but i can't think anymore.
