An asteroid travels in space with a velocity of 1000 m/s. How far will it go in 10 seconds?

Answer:

My thinking tells me, that if the asteroid's travelling at 1,000 miles per second, then all you have to do is multiply 1,000 by 10, since every second it's going 1,000 miles. So your answer will be 10,000 miles.
