Animal cells have centrioles located in the cytoplasm near the nucleus. They are made of microtubules and their major function is to assist the cell division process. Centrioles are absent in plant cells. Centrioles are not present in bacterial cells.
Membrane-bound organelles like nucleus, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum are present in plant and animal cells, but not in a bacterial cell.
EUKARYOTIC CELL:
- Eukaryotic cells are cells that possess a membrane-bound nucleus and organelles. Examples of eukaryotic cells are plant cell, animal cell, fungi cell etc.
- Prokaryotic cell are cells that do not possess a membrane-bound organelle. Examples are bacteria cells.
- Membrane bound organelles include endoplasmic reticulum, chloroplast, nucleus, mitochondria etc. and since prokaryotic cells do not possess them, they also lack these structures.
