1. Discuss why Wolpert says we have a brain.
2. Wolpert explains that if you don’t move, you don’t need a brain. What animal does he use to demonstrate this concept? Discuss how this animal supports his claim.
3.Wolpert explains that his group tried to reverse engineer how humans control movement. What makes this difficult, and what is the example he uses to demonstrate the concept?
4.Discuss the theory Wolpert uses to convince us that the brain goes through a great deal of effort to reduce the negative consequences of noise and variability.
5.Wolpert says that there's one very clear example in which a sensation you generate feels very different than if another person generated it. Please explain this example and how Wolpert explored it and whether he saw the experiment as a success or not.

1. Wolpert believes that the only reason that humans have the brain is to make complex movements. Wolpert says that an organism needs to move in order to make an impact on the environment.

2. Wolpert used the example of sea squirt. He said that the sea squirt moves around the ocean his whole life and then when he implants on a rock, he digests his own brain. He used this example as proof that once an organism stops moving, it no longer requires a brain.

3. The reverse engineering of the humans' movements is difficult to accomplish because the sensory feedback interrupts the signals. In order to explain this, he uses the example of radio signals.

4. Wolpert theorized that the brain sends signals to the muscles in order to make certain movements. These movements are a result of the sensory information received by the brain from the skin, vision, and muscles. Most of this information contains 'noise' which the brain works hard to interpret and remove.
