Marcus worked a total of 31.25 hours during the week, earning a total of $320.3125 in the process.

Also, Marcus should stick to his old job which offers a higher salary than his new job offer.

  • Day ______ Hours worked
  • October 11___ 6.25 hours
  • October 12 __ 7.25 hours
  • October 15 __ 6.00 hours
  • October 16 __ 6.75 hours
  • October 17 __ 5.00 hours

1.) Total hours worked for the week :

(6.25 + 7.25 + 6.00 + 6.75 + 5.00) = 31.25 hours

2.) Total amount earned for the week :

(total hours worked × earning per hour)

(31.25 × 10.25) = $320.3125

3.)

Weekly salary = $150

Commission on sale = $0.25 per ice cream sold

Average sale on number of ice cream per week = 125

Total amount made on ice cream sale :

Weekly salary + (average weekly unit sold × commission per sale)

$150 + (125 × $0.25)

$150 + $31.25 = $181.25

Amount made per week in old position > earning per week in New position

Therefore, Marcus should not take the job at his new position based on weekly earning.
