Simple...

you have: [tex] \sqrt{5k} +2+8=11[/tex]

-->>Isolate the variable...

[tex] \sqrt{5k} +2+8=11[/tex]

[tex] \sqrt{5k} +10=11[/tex]

[tex] \sqrt{5k} +10=11[/tex]
                       -10  -10

[tex] \sqrt{5k} =1[/tex]

What is the opposite of square root? [tex] (x)^{2} [/tex]

[tex] \sqrt{5k} ^{2} = 1^{2} [/tex]

5k=1

Now simply divide-->>

k=[tex] \frac{1}{5} [/tex]

Thus, your answer.
