The Dependent and independent variables are two important variables in an experiment. Test score is the dependent variable while listening to music is the independent variable.

  • The dependent variable is also called the measured variable, which is the variable which we intend to measure, as such, it changes as the independent variable is tweaked.

  • The dependent variable in this experiment is the test score which measures the effect of listening to music.

  • The Independent variable is also called the predictor variable. It is used to induce changes to the dependent variable.

  • The Independent variable in the experiment is listening to music.
