The Bribri are farmers who primarily cultivate bananas and chocolate as commercial crops.
They also grow around 120 other wild and domesticated products, such as corn, beans, plantains, palm, cocoa, medicinal plants, industrial and building lumber, and other items.
The Bribri have kept their expertise of natural colors, but they now employ commercial dyes as well.
