Following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the organization dispatched four rescue teams and assistance supplies to the country. In 2011, they airlifted 180 tons of food to Somalia and shipped 2000 tons of supplies. During the Syrian civil war, South African medics and volunteers have been supporting victims through Gift of the Givers. Some South Africans were injured or killed as a result of the conflict in Syria. Flood victims in Malawi's Karonga region were provided food relief in 2013.
