PLZ I NEED HELP !!!! PROBABILITY The table shows the outcome of rolling a number cube. Determine whether the function that models the outcome of each roll is discrete, continuous, or neither discrete nor continuous. Then state the domain and range of the function, Roll Outcome 1 2 3 domain: AWOWA 4 5 range: 6 Price $45 14. AMUSEMENT PARK The table shows the price of tickets to an amusement park based on the number of people in the group. Determine whether the function that models the price of tickets is discrete, continuous, or neither discrete nor continuous. Then state the domain and range of the function, Group Size up to 15 people 16-50 people 51-100 people 101 or more people $38 $30 $26

Respuesta :

From the functions, we have the following results:

  1. The roll of number cubes is a discrete function; the domain and the range are [1,6] and [4,6] respectively.
  2. The amusement park function is a continuous function; the domain and the range are [0,[tex]\infty[/tex]) and [26,45], respectively

I've added as an attachment, the table of the functions

1. Roll of number cube

From the table of the number cubes, we have:

[tex]Rolls = \{1,2,3,4,5,6\}[/tex]

[tex]Outcome= \{4,3,6,3,5,4\}[/tex]

Notice that

  • The number of rolls is finite i.e, 1 to 6.
  • The outcome is also finite; i.e. 4 to 6

This means that:

  • The function is discrete
  • The domain is: [1,6]
  • The range is [4,6]

2. Amusement park

From the table of the number cubes, we have:

[tex]Size = \{0-15,15-50,50-100,100-\infty\}[/tex]

[tex]Price= \{45,38,30,26\}[/tex]

Notice that

  • The group size is infinite i.e, 0 to infinity.
  • The price is finite; i.e. 26 to 45

This means that:

  • The function is continuous, because the group size infinite
  • The domain is: [0.[tex]\infty[/tex])
  • The range is [26,45]
