The evidence that suggested that he saw the plight of the slaves in an Old Testament context was due to the fact that he was a slave child during the time of the Civil War.

  • The book explained how the slaves suffered on the plantations and the hardships that they had to pass through before independence and the joy that they had  when they were finally free.

  • Up from Slavery is about the author whom was a slave child. The book illustrated the difficulties that he overcame in order to get an education. set uWhen he grew up, he then set up vocational schools such as the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama which was established in order to to help black people learn  skills that will be useful to them.

In conclusion, the book explains that there is dignity in labor.
