Limited government is when the power that the government has is limited. The rights of individuals is being focused on in a limited government.
The Enlightenment, was a movement that advocated the liberty, tolerance and a limited government. Individuals were allowed to have control and freedom over their resources.
The Glorious Revolution brought about a scenario whereby the power of the king was limited and there were also protections for the English subjects.
Salutary neglect contributed to the American Revolutionary War. This also led to the limited power of the imperial authority.
