What is the y value when x is -5? What about 5?

I’ve done all three functions and the answers are -9, 24 and -4 but I don’t know which one to answer as the y value with. Please help.

-5 is between -2 and -10 So you use that problem
-20 + 11 = -9

When you use 5. It is between 2 and 10. So you use that problem
5+ 1 = 6
