The types of triangles are: equilateral, isosceles, scalene, right angled, acute angled and obtuse angled triangle.

Triangles are plane shapes with three straight sides. Triangles are classified with respect to either their length of sides, or the measure of each internal angles.

1. Classification of triangles with their length of sides:

i. Equilateral triangle: This implies a triangle with equal length of sides.

ii. Isosceles triangle: This triangle has two of its side with equal length.

iii. Scalene triangle: In this triangle, non of its sides has equal length.

2. Classification of triangles with their internal angles:

i. Acute angled triangle: This triangle has all its angles less than $90^{o}$.

ii. Right angled triangle: This has one of its angles to be a right angle.

iii. Obtuse angled triangle: This triangle has one of its internal angles to be greater than $180^{o}$.

Therefore, there are generally six types of triangles of two classes.
