Most of the people felt outraged and saddened as the show did not show all the good that the British Empire had done as the way it imparted its impartial justice and all the benefits that British rule brought over its citizens such as the law, the order and economic prosperity.

For the above reasons, the BBC had to face criticism and apologize to the entire audience including children for the high content of violence that this series presented.
