When organisms do not need a mate in reproduction, it is asexual
Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction in which a single organism produces offspring that are genetically identical to the parent. This type of reproduction involves only one parent and there is no change in the number of chromosomes. Asexual reproduction occurs in unicellular organisms such as archaea and bacteria. Types of asexual reproduction include; budding, sporogenesis, binary fission, and vegetative propagation.
