two kids are roller skating. Amy with the mass of 55kg, traveling at 3m/s. Jenny who has a mass of 40kg is traveling at 5m/s in the opposite direction. they crash into each other and hold onto each other so now they are skating together,how fast are they traveling?t

m1v1+m2v2=(m1+m2)=v
is the equation needed for this, I need help with how to do the steps,it's on my review,please help and thank you!

Let's say Amy is 1 and Jenny is 2. M1 would be Amy's mass of 55. V1 would be her speed of 3. M2 would be 40 and V2 would be 5.

(M1 x V1) + (M2 x V2)
(55 x 3) + (40 x 5)
165 + 200 = 365.

The second part of the equation doesn't make sense to me, though. Are you sure it's that equation exactly?
