For number 1 look at the point where it is graphed (-2) notice how it is a shaded circle (unlike number 2 where it is white) so you would have > with a line underneath. It would be > because thats the direction in which the line is going. For number 2 it would be x<-2 because the arrow is going to the left so it <, it would be -2 as thats where it has been plotted and, it would NOT have a line underneath the symbol because the circle is not shaded.
