Answer and Explanation:
Some of the valuable information and inventions that were made by failed experiments are:
- Pacemaker:
Wilson Greatbach made a mistake while building a heart rhythm recording device, he pulled out the wrong sized resistor and plugged it into the circuit. When it was installed he realized it sounded like a human heartbeat. With a bit more modifications the result was an implantable pacemaker, which has since saved thousands of lives.
- Synthetic Dye
In 1856, dyes were made from natural materials - and 18-year-old chemist William Perkin creating an artificial version of the malarial drug, quinine. Unfortunately, his experiments went wrong, leaving behind a dark, oily sludge, a color more vibrant than he’d seen before. He got Nobel Prize for it which was called a synthetic dye.
- Penicillin
Sir Alexander Fleming was conducting experiments to discover a “wonder drug” to treat a variety of diseases when he noticed an unknown fungus growing in a discarded Petri dish. This strange fungus was dissolving the surrounding bacteria. Fleming lately came to know that he had unintentionally found one of the most important drugs for treating infections for which he got Nobel Prize.
