John wanted to save money to buy a new outfit. John saved $28.80 in April, $21.90 in May and $21.00 June. However, he also had to spend $28.60 on school supplies and $43.50 on his dog. if the outfit costs $182.60, how much money does John still need to save?
To solve this question you would need to calculate the amount of money he saved: 28.80+21.90+21=$71.70 Now you would need to subtract everything he spent his money on: 71.70-28.60-43.50=$4.60 Now you would need to do 182.60-4.60=$178
So John would have to save $178 to buy his new outfit. :-)
