Answer :[tex] (x^2 + 1)( x + 1) [/tex]

Factor [tex] x^3 + x^2 + x + 1[/tex] by grouping

We group first two terms and last two terms

[tex] (x^3 + x^2)+( x + 1) [/tex]

Now we take out GCF from each group

GCF of [tex] (x^3 + x^2) [/tex] is x^2

GCF of [tex]+( x + 1) [/tex] is 1

[tex] (x^3 + x^2) +( x + 1) [/tex]

[tex] x^2(x + 1) +1( x + 1) [/tex]

Now we factor out x+1 that is in common

[tex] (x^2 + 1)( x + 1) [/tex]
