Body tissue is an intermediate level of organization of cells in multicellular organisms.
In a tissue, cells forming the complex work together to carry out a specific function in the body.
Tissues are organized from cells and further organize to create additional levels of organization in the body.
The Human Body has four types of tissue:
1. Epithelial tissue:
It is a body tissue made of cells connected together in sheets forming the barriers within the body.
It is found as lining of body in skin, covering all organs and the internal cavity of hollow organs.
2. Connective Tissue:
It is a type of tissue binding organs and body part together.
It is the most abundant and widespread throughout the entire body.
There are three main types of fibers making up connective tissue:
- Collagen
- Reticular
- Loose
Connective tissue are of four types:
- Connective
- Bone
- Blood
- Cartilage
3. Muscle Tissue:
It is a body tissue derived from the mesoderm that facilitates contraction in the body. All types of muscle tissue exhibit i.e. they can transmit electricity allowing coordinated contraction in muscular organs.
4. Body Tissue:
These tissues helps in making up organs and various parts of the body.
