When colonists from other countries, take Spain for example, bring their beliefs and morals with them to other areas of the world; it will influence them. When people migrate it changes the culture and areas around it. This is not to mention forced religious practices or any of the religious agreements. If religion were to spread by word of mouth solely, rather than word of mouth ON FOOT, it would've made less of an impact.
