Interest group's primary goal is to create, change or maintain particular policies that their members are concern about, such policies may benefit them directly, benefit one segment of society or the overall community.
They attempt to achieve its goal by lobbying government (Members of Congress, the executive branch, etc.), engaging in election activities, educating people about their interests, activities, relevance, current issues, etc., mobilizing people who act on behalf of the organization in order to perform activities, such as writing letters, making phone calls and demonstrating, among other activities.
