Another benefit of World War I was the advancement of technology. The war pushed other countries to find new ways of breaking the stalemate in the trenches. For example, the British had invented tanks yet it ended as a failure due to it being very fragile and very slow. Another example is the German's advancement in the chemical industry especially the use of chlorine gas which was banned in warfare yet they used it. Allies soon followed on by using chemical weapons.
