ANSWER: (depends what form they want you to write it in)

y=-1/2x-8
OR
2y=-x-16
OR
x+2y+16=0

EXPLANATION:

Take line 2x-y=6
And put it in form y=mx+c

-y=-2x+6
y=2x-6
y=mx+c
(m=2 which means the slope is +2/1)

Perpendicular means you flip this slope and change its sign so +2/1 becomes -1/2 for the perpendicular line)

(-4,-6) = (x1,y1)
And m= -1/2

SUB THIS INTO FORMULA = y-y1=m(x-x1)

y-(-6)=(-1/2)(x-(-4))
y+6=-1/2 (x+4)
y+6 = -1/2x -2
y=-1/2x -8

ANSWER: (depends what form they want you to write it in)

y=-1/2x-8
OR
2y=-x-16
OR
x+2y+16=0
