- It acts as a cytoskeleton and gives mechanical support.
- It helps in lipid synthesis.
- It helps in glycogenolysis.
- It forms nuclear envelope during cell division.
- Ribosomes
- They help in synthesis of protein and hence they are called protein factories.
- They also store protein for a temporary time.
