When insulating materials rub against each other, they may become electrically charged . Electrons , which are negatively charged, may be 'rubbed off' one material and on to the other. The material that gains electrons becomes negatively charged.

Answer:

Friction and charge relate to each other because without friction or contact between two objects, the objects cannot become charged. When two objects rubb against each other the electrons move from one object to the other. After two objects have created friction or have come in contact with each other, one object will have more protons and the other object will have more electrons. If an object has more protons then electrons than that means that the object is positively charged, if an object has more electrons then protons than that means that the object is negatively charged.

Electrons = negative charge (-)

Protons = positive charge (+)
