The triangle shirtwaist factory was a factory where young girls and women worked in small headquarters. Because there was many mechanical machines running at one time the factory began to burn up in flames. Doors were locked so they were stuck in a burning building. The fire began on the eighth floor and the fire trucks ladders only went to the seventh floor. 146 girls died that day from the horrible fire.
