The author's knowledge of presenting in front of Congress may have caused him/her to use contradictory and rhetorical terms to help get their point across about space exploration, and to help persuade the members of congress to approve of space exploration.

If the author were writing to convince school children to support his position, he could use pictures or made-up scenarios that could be applicable to the children; therefore, making them want to learn more about space exploration and support the cause.

Here are some of the points i would personally include in an argument aimed at convincing a third-grade class to support space exploration:

• Using pictures.
• Using historical facts.
• Using made-up scenarios or stories that apply to children.
• Talk about careers in the space field.
