The United States of America was a fast-growing nation during the 1800s, for religious equality, many people migrated west, while some were believers in Manifest Destiny, settlers needed to find a property that was not already claimed, fortunately, Mexicans required settlers in their western territories. Mexico welcomed Americans into their land to settle, both countries did have many problems. Though it wasn't long for the US and Mexico to go to war, the U.S. was justified going to war because Mexico had drawn American blood on American territory, Texas (a land that many Mexicans still considered theirs) was an independent nation and had the right to rule itself, and Texas was seeking to become part of the U.S., meaning the U.S. still had the right to fight.
