HELPFUL HINTS

Consider these questions as you create your tweets:

What nation are you fighting for? (OR: what side are you on?)
Why did you decide to fight for your nation?
Was fighting in the war what you expected?
Are you able to effectively fight against your enemy? Why or why not?
What have you seen, heard, and smelled in the trenches?
What do you know about the enemy?
What are your goals if you make it out alive?
How are you passing the time?
What would you like to tell your family or the citizens of the nation that you are fighting for?

Answer:

1)  I’m French and fighting for France on the Western front against the Germany Eastern front.

2)  Stuck in a dark, deep trench for the past 3 weeks and smelling decrepit bodies all around me.

3)  I expected to be cruising in a submarine when I got drafted and not rotting in this hole.

4)  Killed so many with my machine gun; however, they have killed many more with their gas.

5)  In the trench with the sun blistering me finally night falls. Then appears a zeppelin very quietly as I fear they will drop a bomb on me.

6)  The Allied powers, those countries allied against the Central Powers

7)  Treaty of Brest-Litovsk has been signed which is bad news for us. This has ended the war on the eastern front, now the focus is all on us.

8)  I’m in the middle of catastrophe and fought to make it out alive I’ll be honored to be a hero!

9)  We pass time by singing the Christmas Truce in English and German, it’s the only nice sound down here.

10)  When this is over, I’m getting on an aircraft going straight home dead or alive!
