So your question is how to solve this equation or how to extend it? I think that I do not really know what to answer here. Please be more specific.

Multiplication (left to right; if division is first, do that first)

Division (left to right)

Addition (left to right; if subtraction is first, do that first

Subtraction (left to right)

So...

f(x) = (x-4)^2   -9

f(x)= x^2 - 4^2 - 9

f(x)= x^2 - 16 - 9

f(x) = x^2 - 7

Simplified! Now, this is a function. How this works is, you can put anything in for x. The information can then be used to create a table of values! :D to graph this, simply replace f(x) with y. Have fun!
