I need help on these two problems

-0.5y=-50
3y-7=8

Since -.5 multiplied by 1000 equals -50, y for the first one is 1000. For the second, since 3 multiplied by 5 is 15, when you subtract 7 it gives you 8. That means y has to be 5 in the second one.
