By the 1890s, the phrase “Jim Crow” was applied to represent acts and practices directed at segregating African-Americans and others. These regulations were calculated to undermine social contact between WHITE MEN and separate groups and to block the FREEDOM and opportunity of people of color. Insulting racial stereotypes were commonplace in American culture. They reinforced discriminatory practices and regulations that oppressed Americans of racial, ethnic, or religious backgrounds. Fortunately, now these acts don’t remain. However, there are still people not being cared for equally. With the transition of the original administration and the sudden shift, communities all over the world, in our country, didn’t know how to feel about it. Refugees are not being allowed to enter the United States for 120 days because their county isn’t allowed by the United States. People all over the U.S. are being held by ICE and being deported back to their country of birth. They have to leave behind their family behind because they’re illegal here, and they don’t have a choice whether they stayed. People fear going to work, leaving the country, and not knowing if they were going to be allowed to come back. This isn’t fair for anybody, as Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.” We have to care for each other no matter our ethnicity, age, gender, or sexual preference. People are people, and we all deserve to be treated as everyone. We can’t think that a single wall is going to fix the immigration problem there is today, but that would only become an obstacle for people trying to achieve their dreams and make them a reality. We just need to appreciate each other because if we were all the same. Life wouldn’t be filled with adventure and excitement. However with the Biden administration stuff like this might change
