The geosphere supplies all the raw materials that all living things use to build their bodies. The sun supplies the energy directly or indirectly.. (There are some exceptions, some life forms have been found in deep sea vents and produce their energy chemically. And microorganism have been found at great depths in drill holes recently, little is known about them.)
