Hedy Lemarr is one of the most overlooked women in history. She lived and grew up in Austria where in 1937 she was able to escape her toxic, controlling husband and move to the United States. Lemarr was a dashing young women and had no trouble finding a role in the spotlight in Hollywood. Being a star was not the only thing she is good at. Working alongside George Antheil, Lamarr created the “Secret Communications System” which helped radios switch frequencies to avoid their messages being decoded in World War II. Her invention was picked up by the United states military and was put into action in the Navy, and The Army. The "Secret Communication System" is still used today as a precaution incase a WIFI system is accessed unauthorized or is disabled.
